Listen up ladies and gentlemen, May is around the corner and that means that you have one more official month until beach season starts. Are you ready? Want to prove you’re ready? This is your last push, last chance to be fit as a fiddle (Tony Horton anyone?) this summer.

What you need to start:

·      We’re going to need your stats. This is how we track progress and determine who wins each category. So this means we’d like to know your CW, measurements, your known lifting max, and your best run (distance and time).

·      We want to know your goals! It’s always interesting to know what people set out to do for themselves in a month, so it’d be awesome if you could let us know. It’s easier to motivate someone when you know what they’re working towards. 

·      A picture of you in your favourite bikini or swim trunks. Before and After pictures are fun! If you’re not comfortable with this, no problem at all. It’s up to you.

·      Motivation. More importantly, the motivation to do this the healthy way. They say that it takes 21 days to make a habit. Use this next month as a way to form good and healthy habits. Eating your meals, exercising daily, and getting a good night’s rest.

How is this going to work?

The person who has made the most progress, or reached their goal wins the challenge.

Because I don’t think this should be based on weight loss only (because that’s not everyone’s goal and people lose at different rates) there will be categories for winners.

Everyone who reaches their goal will be promo’d

Most amount of weight lost

Most inches lost

Best before and after picture (as voted on by followers)

Best lifting improvement

Best improvement on race distance

Best improvement on run time

Make sure you follow the blog because there will be bonus rounds to score extra points later on in the challenge.

Remember that we are fitblrs people! Listen to your body, don’t over exert yourself, and most of all KEEP EATING. Before you start make sure you have what it takes to eat clean for a month, and that you drink enough water per day. Stay healthy!

For those of you who do win, I can’t do a giveaway, I’m a poor college kid, but I thought promos and features on my blog about your weight loss story would be kind of cool. Like an interview almost. I’m a journalism student and I have to practice somehow!

Countdown to Summer: May 30 Day Challenge

Hey guys.

So I was hoping to get some advice and things.

I know I never post anymore but that’s cause I made a new fitblr in case you haven’t heard:)

But I have more followers here so I may be more likely to get feedback since my followers over there are ignoring me on this topic.

I want to try doing a cut for a few weeks and see how that does me, to try to shed some excess fat that is hiding my muscles. (No I don’t think I am fat but I think I tiny bit of flab is hiding my muscles away. You don’t make as much improvement as I have without building muscle haha.)

So I started my cut yesterday, and I am going to go for 1-2 weeks and see how I am feeling to determine whether or not I keep doing it. I don’t want to do something that makes my body unhappy and if my body ends up not liking it..so be it. I will not hurt myself for aesthetics.

So this is what’s going down:

  • Going to try to eat fewer calories*. Not excessively fewer but just cutting them here and there.
  • Up the protein.
  • Upping cardio. Going to try to hit the roads when it’s nice out and hit the treadmill when it’s not.
  • Lifting heavier. (Going to be hard cause I already lift as heavy as I can but hey I will push myself)

*Only a few hundred though. I’ll try not to go under 1500? I won’t be counting but I will just minimize where I know I can. More cheerios, less Kashi and Grapenuts. Go  back to one peice of bread sandwiches, use a little less peanutbutter (2-3 tbs instead of like 4-5 lmao). Cut back on dinner carbs. It’s late, why do I need carbs? Carbs is for energy, I don’t need energy at night. Still going to have them obv. but I will try to up the veggies to fill the carb spot in my dinners to fill me. I have been trying to do that more anyways.

Any advice, tips, criticism would still be appreciated if you think I am missing something or doing this wrong:)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GIVE SOME FEEDBACKKK I HAVE NEVERR DONE THIS SORT OF THING outside of restricting during my ED that is, (not too worried about being triggered by this cut but I will push through it, I refuse to hurt my body)

At some point I am going to go through and message you all individually with my new fitness blog, but if you want access right away just send me an ask and I’ll give you the link:)

Should I start trying to use a calorie counting website again a couple times a week? I honestly don’t know how many I am getting and I only ever guestimate. Sometimes I will look back and “count” a few days worth in my head but that is super estimated and probably way off.

I would be doing this to make sure I am eating enough not to restrict, but I don’t want it to end up triggering ( A year into recovering from eating disorder). And I could use one of the ones that do micronutrients so I can see my protein-carb-fat intake. I don’t know if I am getting enough of/too much of those either.

Advice?

I kind of wish I had made this blog on a separate account from my personal blog :/ I can’t like or message anyone without it just linking them to my personal one. I want it to be completely fitness.
